The Sámi (US: / ˈsɑːmi / SAH-mee, UK: also / ˈsæmi / SAM-ee; [8] also spelled Sami or Saami) are the traditionally Sámi -speaking indigenous people inhabiting the region of Sápmi, which today encompasses large northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and of the Kola Peninsula in Russia. Dr. Sami Chogle earned his first dental degree in 1993 from Dharwad University in India.
He went on to earn his subsequent degrees of Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) and Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) in Endodontics from Case Western Reserve University in the years 2000 and 2003. Sami, any member of a people speaking the Sami language and inhabiting Lapland and adjacent areas of northern Norway, Sweden, and Finland, as well as the Kola Peninsula of Russia, a region they call Sápmi. Traditional Sami occupations are hunting, fishing, farming, and reindeer herding, though only a minority of today's Sami make a living from these activities alone, and virtually none live in a natural economy nor have a nomadic lifestyle. The Sami are the Indigenous people of northern Scandinavia and the Kola Peninsula, with deep roots across Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia.
