The Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) is a publicly available database containing information on toxic chemical releases and other waste management activities in the United States. You need to submit a Form R or Form A TRI report for all TRI-listed chemicals that are manufactured, processed, or otherwise used on your site and estimate any releases, even if you had not had any actual releases. TRI, or Toxic Release Inventory Reporting, falls under the federal Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), and it's all about what chemicals (and how much of them) are released into the environment (and how). Each year, certain industrial facilities submit Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) data to EPA.
